Digital Literature Review 2025-2026

In the English Department, our students will learn skills that transfer across hundreds of possible careers and industries—some of which may not even exist yet. Our graduates go on to work in marketing, publishing, non-profit fundraising, speechwriting, as well as in countless other fulfilling occupations. A gift to the English General Fund will support many exciting initiatives and opportunities like the Digital Literature Review (DLR).

The Digital Literature Review is a student-led online exclusive academic journal operating under Ball State's English 487 class. This project has been in production since 2014 and is a great chance for students to learn what it's like to work for a publishing team.

Each year, the DLR selects a theme to guide and inspire our publication. Under the leadership of our faculty advisor, Kathryn Ludwig, this year’s theme focuses on spatiality, the study of space, its influence on human experience, and the ways we shape it in return. This theme offers a unique opportunity to explore ideas that are both intellectually rich and culturally relevant, especially as the theories of spatial studies founder Robert Talley remain largely unexplored.

The DLR serves as a platform for these conversations to take shape and thrive. With your support, we can expand the reach of this work through strategic marketing and engaging events that bring these theories to a wider audience. Your contribution will help us spark meaningful dialogue, elevate emerging scholarship, and strengthen our shared pursuit of knowledge and creativity.
