International Student Emergency Support
International Student Emergency Support
Katherine Koontz was a beloved presence at Ball State’s International House (now called the Rinker Center for Global Affairs). Known as “mom” to countless students, she opened her home and her heart, creating a lasting legacy of care. In 1978, the Katherine Koontz Memorial Fund was created to honor her spirit of generosity by providing emergency financial support for international students.
For students far from home, an unexpected illness, family crisis, or urgent travel need can threaten their ability to continue their studies. This fund ensures they have somewhere to turn in times of need allowing their academic journey to continue when life takes an unexpected turn. By giving, you not only provide critical assistance to students in moments of crisis, you also carry forward Koontz’s legacy of compassion and welcome that defines the Ball State community.
*Any additional funds raised will be used for future international student emergency support.*
