Jack Walker Scholarship in History

The Jack Walker Scholarship for the study of the founding of the United States is awarded to students interested in the colonial and revolutionary periods.

The founders of the republic overcame challenges to establish a new form of government through a process of revolution, consensus building, and legislative accomplishments. The scholarship provides money for students who are interested in studying this crucial period. The various regional interests and multiple people who participated in critical events. 

This scholarship makes sure that highly qualified history students have the resources to continue their studies.

On the 250^th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence it is imperative that students have a clear understanding of the ideals of the revolutionary generation. The crucial importance of that 250-year experiment in self-governance needs to be reaffirmed by each generation to perpetuate democracy. This scholarship assists students who are studying the colonial and revolutionary generations and who display excellence in that area. These scholarships help students manage their costs and support student retention.
