Study abroad programs give Ball State students an opportunity to explore outside the classroom and around the world. Many of our study abroad programs are led by BSU faculty members-- they develop high-impact courses to be taught internationally, perhaps for a summer session, a full semester, or even a quick trip during winter or spring break. This year over 250 BSU students will participate in a BSU faculty-led study abroad program! Gifts to the Study Abroad Fund will help support projects like CAP: Mediterranean, In Search of the Trojan War, Black Global Studies in Belize, Travel Writing in France & Italy, Ecology in Namibia, and Leadership in Ireland, just to name a few.
About CAP: Mediterranean, In Search of the Trojan War:
Our group of 19 (!) BSU students will travel to Greece and Turkey in May and June to study the ancient and modern sites associated with the Trojan War. One of the things we're most excited to do is visit the historic island of Delos, which remains sacred to the Greek people. While we're there, we'll learn the visual culture surrounding the Trojan War and how myth-histories perpetuate into modern media. This course is led by Profs. Kristin Barry and Adriana Elser from the Department of Architecture.
*any additional funds raised will be used for future program expenses.
