One-third of Ball State students identify as first-generation and graduating from college is a significant milestone for students and their families. We also know that about 40 percent of Ball State students meet the exceptional financial need to be Pell eligible. There are students who choose not to participate in commencement ceremonies because the cost of the regalia is a barrier to participating.
We are raising funds to provide an opportunity for students from an underserved population to have their family, friends and supporters witness their name being called as a graduate of Ball State University. Through your generosity, students will be able to participate in one of the most time-honored college traditions with their peers. This funding priority supports the mission of the University by making it possible for all students who want to participate in the commencement ceremony to do so by making grad regalia more accessible.
**Any additional funds raised will be used for future fund expenses**
