Alumni, family, friends and supporters - The Interior Design Alliance needs your help!
Meet Interior Design Alliance!
We are a student run organization that works to further students’ knowledge in the interior design industry. We host meetings that feature guest speakers, from interior designers to product representatives, they talk first-hand about products and design. We also cover information on making a strong resume, portfolio, and professional presence that will help our members further their careers.
Fundraising Purpose
Every year, the Interior Design Alliance board plans a field trip for our student members to an exciting city packed with interior design. With the intent of experiencing significant design sites and a range of firms, this journey will expose our members to new ideas and environments that expand our knowledge outside of the classroom.
Giving the students involved in IDA the chance to grow professionally outside of the classroom allows them to have a better understanding of their future profession by visiting other cities and seeing how a range of firms operate. We hope to showcase different types of design firms, historical sites, and design precedents to our members during this field trip. Members will gain memories that can positively affect their academic and professional careers for years to come!
Past Field Trips
IIn the spring of 2019, we sent seven of our members to Nashville, TN where they were able to meet with various designers and product representatives, while also visiting multiple historic and notable landmarks. After the COVID-19 pandemic this tradition was picked back up in spring of 2022 with a trip to St. Louis, MO. Where we got to visit the famous Gateway Arch designed by the architect Eero Saarinen.
2023 Spring Field Trip
Now, we are looking forward to traveling in April 2023 to Pittsburgh, PA. While in Pennsylvania, we are hoping to visit multiple design firms such as IKM architects, DLA architecture and interior design, and design showrooms throughout the city. In addition to the firms, we will visit the historic Frank Lloyd Wright Falling Water house and Phipps Conservatory. Your financial contribution would help us cover the lodging, transportation, and museum admission for 20 IDA members.
