Study abroad programs give Ball State students an opportunity to explore outside the classroom and around the world. Many of our study abroad programs are led by BSU faculty members — they develop high-impact courses to be taught internationally, perhaps for a summer session, a full semester, or even a quick trip during winter or spring break. This year more than 250 BSU students will participate in a BSU faculty-led study abroad program! Gifts to the Study Abroad Fund will help support projects like Travel Writing in Italy and France, Black Global Studies in Belize, CAP Espana, Ecology in Namibia, and Leadership in Ireland, just to name a few.
About Travel Writing in Italy and France:
Our group of 12 BSU students will travel to Paris, Florence, Venice, Rome (and more!) in May 2024 to study journalistic travel writing. One of the things we're most excited to do is write about the flavors, culture, history and natural beauty of France and Italy. While we're there, we'll read and analyze classic travel writing while learning the skills to produce evocative storytelling. This course is led by Kate Elliott from the School of Journalism and Strategic Communication.
*any additional funds raised will be used for future program expenses.
