We wanted to say thank you to everyone who has helped us reach our first goal of $2,000. The members of Cardinal Kitchen love to go above and beyond for our clients.
With this being said, we are going to implement a stretch goal for the remainder of our campaign. Help us raise $2,800 to keep our pantry fully stocked with non-perishable food items and toiletries by October 31. Every donation counts!
Cardinal Kitchen is Ball State’s campus food pantry. We are a student organization that provides food and toiletries to any and all Ball State students in need at no cost. Let’s make sure that members of our community are not being left undernourished.
Have you ever wondered how the state of Indiana is battling hunger and poverty? Feeding America’s Map, the Meal Gap study, estimates over 15.4% of Hoosiers are food insecure, which over a third of this population are children.
Imagine the investment in creating a holistic environment where institutions set in motion resources on college campuses for students that are facing tribulations of hunger and poverty! Doing this in order to make sure that student development is more equitable, as individuals will have more needs than others. Success isn’t based on the number of students, rather than the impact on each individual student. With this in mind, it is still vital that as a food pantry we have enough resources that will meet the needs of our student population as they arise.
Spending is in consideration to shopping for different toiletry and food items that are necessary in order for students to be successful. A few of the toiletry items we provide include toilet paper, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, razors, and body wash. We hope to purchase deodorant, paper towels, hand sanitizer, and more of the previously listed toiletries. When it comes to providing ample nutrition resources for our students, Cardinal Kitchen receives donation items to disperse to the student population.
Our team plans and facilitates outreach methods that inform various populations across the university campus to demonstrate our role and duty to serve our students, as well as how these opportunities are accessible.
Here is your chance to give back to the community and the only food pantry located on Ball State University's campus and provide resources for students that are in need. It takes a community’s actions of service to help provide for other individuals that may not have the privileges of accessible food and toiletries.
