Social learning is one of the most important facets of interacting and holding a job in the business world. The networking opportunities that these events provide allow students the opportunity to meet and interact with leaders in the industry. The connections that are forged in social events lead to greater opportunities for employment. Interacting socially is one of the most important parts of any job. Knowing how to do a job is different from knowing how to network, interact, and forge meaningful connections with your co-workers and company contacts. 
The Center for Communication and Information Sciences has an extensive network of Alumni that regularly attend current Social learning events. This gives students an opportunity to speak with current members of the many industries that are represented by CICS Alumns. Interviewing and interacting socially with current members of industry can give students a foot in the door for a start to a desired career.
We hope to raise enough money to be able to support more of these opportunities for our students. Professional social events like those we hold can be expensive, especially for students.We hope to continue to provide these opportunities to our students and if possible expand the number and type of events that we are able to hold.The opportunity to raise money for the betterment of our students and their future success is our ultimate goal.
